Meet Innerstar’s Co-founder Michael Ferns Ong

“I have known Dickson for many years. In 2016, we reconnected when he asked me to run an E-Colors teambuilding workshop for his investment team. This was the spark that created Innerstar and when Dickson suggested that we could make an impact on the underprivileged youths in Singapore by exposing them to the E-Colors programme, I was all in.”

Innerstar’s Co-Founder, Michael Ferns Ong, is a British-born Chinese of Singapore descent who moved back to Singapore in 1997.

He started his career in banking and has experience developing businesses in the IT & Software industries. Between 2008 and 2016, he was General Manager of Equilibria (Singapore), the global coaching company that developed the E-Colors programme.

He left Equilibria in 2016 to set up Team Tuners Pte Ltd, a boutique consultancy company specialising in facilitating communication & team building workshops and providing executive leadership coaching, and Stingray Immersive, a tech start-up company that specialises in providing immersive learning experiences using Virtual Reality.

Michael has more than a decade of experience as a consultant, facilitator and coach and has conducted hundreds of workshops and coaching engagements for senior leaders, managers and supervisors.

His method is to blend personality theory with mindfulness techniques, philosophical concepts and leadership principles to help individuals heighten self-awareness, develop self-regulation and become better leaders and team players.

He has recently started working with MOE schools in Singapore helping teachers, students and family members to understand one another better and develop 21st Century Competencies such as self-awareness, self-management, social-awareness, relationship management and responsible decision-making.

Equilibria is Innerstar’s first core programme partner and Michael intends to use the E-Colors programme to develop these same competencies in the underprivileged youths.
